Hardyston Township and the many unincorporated communities and localities within it are tied together by the magnificent landscape that comes with being located within Sussex County. Surrounded by portions of the Hamburg and Pochuck Mountains, the New York-New Jersey Highlands, part of the greater Crystalline Appalachians and the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians, which feature the Wallkill Valley and the Wallkill River, the Township provides the peace, tranquility and outdoor recreational opportunities that such beautiful scenery offers. Though made up of many communities including Hamburg, Stockholm, Beaver Lake, Lake Stockholm, Silver Lake and Tamarack Lake, there is a larger sense of community. The Hardyston Township Sports and Recreation Complex, which includes multiple soccer, baseball, softball fields, a walking path and playground, is also home to the Summer at the Park Concert Series and Hardyston Day Fall Family Festival Concert & Fireworks. There is no shortage of access to stores, shops and restaurants of all kinds, particularly on Routes 23 and 94.
